Why use organic cotton?

Cotton is one of the most chemically treated crops in the United States as well as the world. Organic cotton is grown without the use of chemicals and genetically modified seeds.

Organic cotton growers use practices like hand weeding, crop rotation, and the introduction of beneficial insects and trap crops to grow their cotton. Conventional cotton growers typically use genetically modified seeds, fungicides, insecticides, synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides to grow their cotton. Also, conventional cotton growers frequently use aerial spraying and intense irrigation. Organic cotton growers aim to maintain healthy soil so that less water is needed.
